Busua Beach Community Caretakers
ABOUT US
We from 'Busua Beach Community Caretakers' are a group of young dedicated people from a small village named 'Busua' near Takoradi, Ghana.
We made it our mission, to create awareness about the plastic pollution that increases world wide, and also effects us in Busua very much.
All of us use a lot of plastic in our daily life and often we don't dispose of it correctly, which causes a lot of pollution in the sea, on the beaches and at the streets and homes in our communities. It is obvious that this pollution affects nature and the quality of life for us as humans as well as for the animals.
We, the youth of Busua, do not want to look away anymore and continue to destroy our beautiful village.
Thats why B.B.C.C. decided to make a change NOW!
We have started in our community by collecting plastic and garbage on a regular basis and to dispose of it correctly. We teach the coummnity and especially the children about the consequences of pollution and how to prevent it.
Moreover we clean and try to improve the drainage system to lower the risk of diseases and to keep our surroundings nice and clean.
Our goal for the longer term is to create a better waste gathering/ waste disposal system, that the community can use easily, to dispose of plastic and any kind of trash correctly. As well as to start garbage separation, so that part of the plastic can be recycled.
B.B.C.C wants the people to realise the impact the pollution has on our lifes and the world. We want to inspire and motivat people to fight against it and make a change.
For the good of all!
